About us

Oro pavojus is an independent information platform about air threats in Lithuania.

One place for the official air alert status, the situation in the sky around Lithuania, the nearest shelters and what to do. Fast, clear and without panic.

Who we are

Oro pavojus is an independent civic project built by volunteers. We are not a government institution and not part of the LT-Alert system.

The app supplements official channels; it does not replace them. If you receive an official alert or hear sirens, always follow the official instructions.

What it is

  • The official air alert status from LT-Alert warnings, labelled OFFICIAL.
  • A map of the 60 municipalities with military aircraft and threats in Ukraine.
  • The nearest shelters from PAGD data, with residents' notes on their condition.
  • Clear steps on what to do in different situations.

What it is not

  • Not an official warning system and not a replacement for sirens or LT-Alert.
  • Not a radar. We cannot guarantee that every threat is detected in time.
  • We never show how long a threat will take to reach a place, and we never rate a place as “safe”.
  • We never publish who reported something or exactly where they were.

Where we stand

The site has been live since 21 September 2026. We keep improving it; here is what is done and what comes next.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Official information

We follow official air alert announcements in Lithuania and trusted news reports.

  2. Step 2

    Official warnings only

The official status is set automatically from LT-Alert warnings. News and resident reports never change it.

  3. Step 3

    Map and data layers

Military aircraft, threats in Ukraine and airspace restrictions are shown as context. An aircraft on the map is not an alert.

  4. Step 4

    Your reports

Drone reports appear publicly only when many different people see the same thing within a short time.

How crowd reports work

RESIDENT REPORTS

Every report reaches only us at first. A sighting appears on the public map only when at least 10 different people report within 10 minutes and about 3 km of each other. A person counts once, however many times they report.

Reports from new or unverified accounts carry less weight. Below the threshold we do not even show that someone reported, which avoids panic and a wave of copycat reports.

The public position is always rounded to at least 250 m, and only you and the site administrator see the exact location of your own report. Crowd reports never change the official status and are always labelled RESIDENT REPORTS.

Principles

  • Official first

Only official LT-Alert warnings set the status colour. Everything else is clearly labelled.

  • Transparency

We always say what is official, what is inferred and what comes from residents.

  • Privacy

We collect only what we need, and ask for your location only when a feature needs it.

  • No panic

No sirens or flashing in the interface. Calm, plain words and concrete actions.

Privacy in short

  • We show no ads and never sell data. We use Google Analytics to count visits only if you agree.
  • The nearest shelter is calculated on your device, and your location is not stored on our servers. Exact drone report locations are kept for 30 days and then anonymised.
  • You can delete your account and its data at any time in the settings.
